The top-rated horse in the field by 3lbs and the only runner coming in off a win, having scored at Ballinrobe just four days ago — that's a quick turnaround, but the form is live. Draws high in stall 14, which is a disadvantage at Killarney where low draws win far more often, and that's the main reason to pause before backing. Still, top-rated, in-form, and ridden by a jockey who wins roughly 1 in 3 recently — hard to ignore.

The market favourite at 2.58 and the subject of the editorial verdict, which flags her encouraging late run on her first handicap race at Leopardstown last month — she's now stepped up in distance. She has never raced on slightly soft ground, which is a genuine question mark, and draws in stall 13 where the stats heavily favour lower draws at this track. Four races, no wins, but there's clearly something the market believes in.
Never raced on slightly soft groundMarket favourite (2.58)
Two wins from 22 races is a modest return, and his last six runs are all double-figure finishes — he's clearly not in the form of his life. He's never raced on slightly soft ground and has a poor record on most other surfaces except fast ground, which today isn't. Blinkers are on, but it's hard to find a compelling reason here.
Ran just seven days ago and finished second at Gowran Park, beaten 3.5 lengths — her only placed finish from nine career races but a timely one, arriving right before today. That recent run puts her among the better-credentialled on current form, and Seamie Heffernan, one of Ireland's leading jockeys, takes the ride. Nine races without a win is the concern, but this is clearly a horse whose confidence may be building.
Joint second-highest rated in the field, but her last three runs — 5th, 7th, 10th — suggest she's heading in the wrong direction. She has a decent record over this distance but has never won on fast or normal ground, and her recent form gives little reason for confidence today.
Twelve races, no wins, but three places show she can at least get competitive — and she has raced at Killarney before, finishing fourth here about 10 months ago, making her one of the few with course experience. Today's slightly soft ground is new to her, however, and there are gaps in her recent form data that make it hard to assess current fitness. A quiet each-way interest at 13-1 if the course form counts for something.
Eight races without a win but showing signs of life recently — two consecutive top-five finishes at Dundalk, beaten just 1.5 lengths last time out. Today's slightly soft ground is new territory for her, and she's never raced on it before, which adds risk. Wearing cheekpieces for the first time could sharpen her focus, and the jockey-trainer combination here wins roughly 1 in 2 races together — a much better ratio than most in this field.
Five races, no wins, no places — the standout marker claims two placed finishes in her last three runs, but the actual results show a 13th, a 22nd, and a 10th, so that data point appears misleading. At 67-1 in a field this competitive, there's very little here to recommend a serious interest.

One win from 24 races is a tough record, and she hasn't raced for nearly five months, which is a long absence to overcome in a competitive 18-runner field. She draws high in stall 16, adding another layer of difficulty given the strong low-draw bias at this course. She's also never raced on slightly soft ground, so almost everything about today is unfamiliar territory.

Three career wins from 50 races, and the last of them came over a year ago — this is a horse that has found winning increasingly difficult. His record on wet or soft ground is poor, with zero wins from a combined 20-plus runs on those surfaces, which makes today's slightly soft ground a serious problem. At 41-1, the market agrees.

Crucially, this is the only horse in the field who has actually won at Killarney — and over this exact course and distance — making him stand out in a field where most have no course form at all. He draws in stall 1, which is right in the heart of the low-draw bias that strongly favours runners here. The downside is a poor record on soft ground with zero wins from eight attempts, and today's slightly soft conditions could undermine his key strength.

At 11 years old, this is the eldest horse in the field, with one win from 35 races and a record that shows zero wins on virtually every ground type except the fast conditions that don't apply today. He does carry the lightest weight in the field, which gives him a physical advantage in theory, but his record at Killarney — still searching for a first win there from five attempts — is a significant flag. Hard to make a case at 81-1.

At 12 years old, Tynamite is the oldest horse in the race, hasn't raced in over seven months, and has the worst draw in the field at stall 18 — three immediate strikes against him. His two career wins have both come on the all-weather surface at Dundalk, and his record on soft ground is blank in terms of victories. This is a horse returning from a long break into conditions and a draw that suit him not at all.

Three races in and yet to finish better than ninth, with results of 9th, 12th, and 13th telling you this horse has found competition tough so far. Has never raced on slightly soft ground, so today's conditions are another unknown to add to a thin profile. The market has pushed it out to 81-1, and on current evidence it's hard to argue.

The most experienced horse in the field by some distance — 59 races compared to a field average of 26 — but his last three runs have produced finishes of 11th, 12th, and 14th, so he's well beaten at present. Draws in stall 17 which is one of the worst draws at this course, and his record shows he's never won on a left-handed galloping track like Killarney. His standout marker about three straight top-three finishes doesn't match his recent form data, so treat that with caution.

How do odds work? The first number is what you win, the second is what you bet. So 5/2 means you win £5 for every £2. 4/1 means you win £4 for every £1. The bigger the first number, the less likely bookmakers think the horse will win — but the more you'd win if it does.
