"He had a great year last year, winning four times, but has been paying the penalty ever since. I thought he ran a nice race when fifth at Kempton last week though. He's at his best on a straight course so Chepstow - where he won twice and was runner-up twice last year - suits him down to the ground. He's better if you can get him to relax and then overtake horses. Last week at Kempton someone unfortunately just cut across him and his jockey had to snatch back and he then started pulling again. That's not so good - you've got to get him to relax and then produce him. But he'll win again - although he's an eight-year-old he still looks amazing and I think he'll pick up another couple of wins for his owners. 14-05-26"
How do odds work? The first number is what you win, the second is what you bet. So 5/2 means you win £5 for every £2. 4/1 means you win £4 for every £1. The bigger the first number, the less likely bookmakers think the horse will win — but the more you'd win if it does.
