TrackLab Insight
The only horse with a genuine edge on good ground—winning 1 from 3 starts on fast, dry conditions—which suits today's normal going perfectly. But this is a thin record: just one win in 17 career races, and that victory was over two years ago; his recent form reads as poor (9th at Galway just 20 days back), and he's won nothing from either left or right-handed galloping tracks.

TrackLab Insight
The standout here: he's won twice from five races at Kilbeggan and sits three pounds above the field average, making him the clear course specialist in this field. He arrives just 21 days after finishing fourth at Galway, giving him a fitness edge over rivals returning from longer breaks, and he's won roughly 1 in 6 races overall—respectable form for a nine-runner contest. The market backs him at 5.0, though that 4-1-4 record over the last three outings hints he's not in scintillating form.

Second in the market at 6.2 with a respectable 19% win rate across 16 races, but recent form is choppy—a 4th at Galway 19 days ago sandwiched between a heavy defeat at Perth and a narrow second at Market Rasen. He's also winless from three attempts on good ground despite showing promise on good-to-yielding surfaces, making consistency his real weakness here.

TrackLab Insight
Rated just three pounds below Charlie Luciano but drifting dramatically in the market to 27.0, this ten-year-old heads the field on paper despite showing precious little in recent races—he's finished 7th and 5th at Kilbeggan in his last two outings. His win rate sits at just 7% across 41 races, and he hasn't won at Kilbeggan in two attempts this season, making him a horse clinging to reputation rather than delivering current form.
Unfancied in the market despite a high rating
Trainer Quotes
Apr 2023
"A consistent performer who always runs his race. In each of the last two seasons he has landed a valuable pot at the Dublin Racing Festival and he came up just short this term in his bid for the hat-trick when third to a well-handicapped horse. He's an intended runner in the Grand National this weekend and, although he has never faced the Aintree fences before, I think he will be fine, but there is only one way to find out. 12-04-23"

"He's won three races at the Dublin Racing Festival, the first as a juvenile hurdler, so I guess that's the way we'll be heading with him, to try to win the Grade B handicap chase there for a third time. He's a good, solid handicapper and only six. There have been a few times when he's been let down by his jumping, but at the same time there have been days when he has jumped really well and everything has gone right. So far the pattern has been one big win every season, so I'm hopeful he can do that again at least. 20-10-22"

TrackLab Insight
This six-year-old is the only horse to have finished second at Kilbeggan in recent weeks (42 days ago, beaten just 9 lengths) and has placed in 2 of his last 3 races—a pattern suggesting progressive form under trainer Gordon Elliott's watchful eye. At 7.5, he offers value as a place horse over this trip, though just 14 races into a career means there's inherent unpredictability.

"He won two hurdles last season. He's a big horse and I reckon chasing will bring out more improvement in him. He'll be seen in a beginners' chase soon enough. 26-10-25"

TrackLab Insight
The only horse to have won at this exact distance in the data—she triumphed at Kilbeggan 67 days ago—but she then ran badly 42 days later at the same track (5th, beaten 29 lengths) before pulling up at Galway just 20 days back. Her win record over the distance is one solitary victory, and recent inconsistency makes her unreliable despite her proven Kilbeggan pedigree.

TrackLab Insight
A long-distance specialist rated at 12.0 who won at Kilbeggan 35 months ago but has been nowhere near a winner since, with recent form reading 13-4-8-4 across his last four outings. This is a horse so short on recent wins (just 2 from 22 races, averaging roughly 1 in 11) that his appearance here feels more about bulk-filling the field than serious contention.

TrackLab Insight
The best win rate in the field at roughly 1 in 5 races, and the jockey-trainer partnership with Keith Donoghue is formidable—they've won 56% of their races together, a genuinely eye-catching stat. However, he's run twice at Kilbeggan recently (4th and 5th) without threatening victory, and he's already raced once just 13 days ago, which may blunt his edge here.

TrackLab Insight
At 11 years old with 47 races behind him, this is genuine durability, though also a warning sign: just 6% win rate across a long career, lowest rating in the field by 13 pounds, and a recent fall at Killarney 35 days ago. He's only won twice from good ground at Kilbeggan previously, and today's normal conditions won't help a horse looking increasingly like a veteran treading water.

How do odds work? The first number is what you win, the second is what you bet. So 5/2 means you win £5 for every £2. 4/1 means you win £4 for every £1. The bigger the first number, the less likely bookmakers think the horse will win — but the more you'd win if it does.
