Trained by Noel Meade at Castletown in County Meath, Charlie Luciano has been handled by jockey Colin Keane in five races, winning one, and the pair clearly work well enough together to warrant pairing again.

Recent form has been patchy. In his last six runs he has finished second, fourth, first, fourth, and then—after a break—twelfth. That sequence suggests a horse still capable of winning on his day, but without the consistency to do so regularly. A second place last time out is encouraging; it shows he remains competitive at his level. Charlie Luciano may never be a headline horse, but he is exactly the kind of middle-distance runner who justifies his place in a busy yard like Meade's, which has already sent out forty-two winners this season alone.
