TrackLab Insight
The most experienced horse here by far (78 races to the field average of 19), with a genuine course specialist record at Ayr (four wins from 23 starts) and 10 career wins overall. His 21% win rate on good ground and recent placings at Hamilton suggest he's sharp enough, though he's never won on soft and normal ground can be unpredictable.

"He looks to be back to his best and his best is very good. He had a good year last year but not quite where we'd had him before. He looked really well in the paddock before he won and showed his wellbeing in the race. He's won some nice races. He likes a strong pace to run at over 7f and I think that's possibly his optimum, but he ran well in the Carlisle Bell over a stiff mile. We've won it before but that race is on our bucket list, but it may be a bit sharp for him at the moment. We'll have a look at York for him because he ran well there last year and a big field over 7f would suit him. 07-05-25"

Just two wins from 25 races masks a horse who knows this track intimately—he's won here and finished 2nd and 3rd in his last three races, all at Ayr within the last month. The market backs him at 5.8, but his poor record on soft ground and struggles on undulating tracks mean normal ground at a galloping circuit suits him.
Running again after just seven days—unusual turnaround—and he's been anchored to Hamilton Park recently (three straight placings there). His sole win came at the same track, and he's never won on good ground, which raises questions about whether he'll handle normal conditions here.

Only one win in 17 races, but he's placed in two of his last three, including a near-miss by just 0.1L at Musselburgh. The jockey-trainer combination has never won together, and his solitary career victory came on standard ground—exactly what's on offer here.

"We picked him up recently at the sales for Ursa Major Racing. He came out of Kevin Coleman's yard. He's got nice form in Ireland - he won at Dundalk last season and finished third on his last run at Down Royal in June behind Summer Snow. He's a nice, big horse so it will be exciting to get him out on the track. 17-07-25"
Winless from 11 races but placed in two of his last three, including a heartbreaking 0.3L defeat at both Carlisle and Musselburgh—he's learning how to run hard without breaking through. Normal ground and a competitive handicap may be the stage where he finally converts close form into a win.
Second favourite at 7.5 despite zero wins from six races, carried into the betting by four placings including a narrow 0.8L loss at Ayr just 49 days ago. Recent form has deteriorated (6th and 8th at York), which is suspicious when the market still backs him so confidently.

The only course and distance winner in this field, but that success came on soft ground and he's yet to score on normal conditions or anything firmer. A mixed recent form (9th, 10th, 5th in last three) at bigger tracks suggests this handicap is worth tackling, though the 55-day absence is a concern.
One of only two course winners in the field, and he proved it just 49 days ago at Ayr—a significant edge over rivals who don't know this track. A three-year-old with a 25% win rate at 7f-1m distances and blinkers on, though he's struggled on anything firmer than good ground.

The top-rated horse by the editorial verdict, but only one win from 15 races and a poor recent 19th at York before that suggest the rating may be doing heavy lifting. Placed in two of his last three and suited by good-to-firm ground, but the form is inconsistent for odds of 11.0.
Lowest rated by 13 pounds and carries the least weight, but that reflects a horse struggling badly—one win in 16 races, and she's yet to win at Ayr despite six attempts including a 7th and 3rd in her last three visits. The form since her October 2024 breakthrough has been consistently poor.

Out for 102 days—longest absence in the field by some distance—which makes a quick return to form unlikely after that long away. Two wins from 22 races gives him decent credentials on paper, but the rustiness and recent 7th and 4th finishes before the break are warning signs.

The editorial selection despite having never won in eight races—the bet is on the upward curve and that current ratings underestimate him. A progressive profile with recent 2nd and 4th finishes shows genuine improvement, but he remains a horse untested at the highest level and 17.0 reflects genuine doubt from the market.
Highest win rate in the field at roughly 1 in 6, but she's never raced on normal ground and her last two outings saw her beaten heavily (17.5L and 15.5L) after a 242-day absence following her only career win. The data is too thin and recent form too poor to trust at 81.0.

How do odds work? The first number is what you win, the second is what you bet. So 5/2 means you win £5 for every £2. 4/1 means you win £4 for every £1. The bigger the first number, the less likely bookmakers think the horse will win — but the more you'd win if it does.
