TrackLab Insight
The standout for fast ground with a 67% win rate on good-to-firm conditions and a 40% career win rate that leads the field — and he just won here 28 days ago. The real threat: he's won zero races on right-handed galloping tracks like Newbury, which is a glaring structural weakness in his profile.

TrackLab Insight
Unbeaten from three career races with a perfect record, but he's dropped three classes from his usual level and just finished fourth at Ascot three weeks ago — his first defeat as a three-year-old raises doubts about whether the step up to Group 2 is premature. The low draw (6) helps, but raw inexperience is a risk against seasoned Group-class horses.

TrackLab Insight
Market favourite with the best record at seven furlongs (3 from 8) and a 60% win rate on fast ground like today's — exactly the conditions that suit him. But a shocking 6th at Goodwood just 17 days ago raises questions, and he's yet to prove himself at this level this year after some disappointing runs.

TrackLab Insight
The least experienced horse here with only seven career races, but his 43% win rate and recent Class 1 victory at Goodwood prove this three-year-old belongs at the top table. A high draw (9) and poor record on today's fast ground (1 from 5) are serious drawbacks against the form guide.

TrackLab Insight
The ratings favourite with a Class 1 win at Newbury in September and recent third-place at Goodwood shows he's in form, but this is his first outing for a new jockey (Saffie Osborne) and his record on good-to-soft ground is alarming (0 from 6). His zero wins on right-handed tracks is another fundamental issue at this venue.

Trainer Quotes
Jul 2023
"The son of Expert Eye looks the part. He has done all we had been asking of him at home and we gave him his first run at Chester last Friday, where I thought it would take a nice one to beat him, and he proved me right with a very professional performance in winning on his debut. Danny brought him off the rail as they entered the short straight and in a matter of strides the race was over. I could not be happier with him, and we will wait and see how he recovers from his first day at the races before making any decisions. We are in no rush as I think he has a lovely future. 06-07-23"

TrackLab Insight
The only course winner at this distance in the field, and he's arrived with three straight top-three finishes that suggest he's peaking at the right time. However, a 10th at Ascot three weeks ago is a concern, and at 15% career win rate he's well below the standard set by stronger rivals in this Group 2 contest.

TrackLab Insight
One of the more consistent winners in the field with four career victories, and he has a 50% win rate on today's good-to-firm ground. Recent form is messy — a 6th at Newmarket last time out — and this is his first outing with jockey Pat Dobbs, leaving too many unknowns for a Group 2.

TrackLab Insight
Boasts the best career win rate in the field at 50% (3 from 6 races) and has won three of four on good ground like today's, which is genuinely impressive for a three-year-old. However, a shocking 22nd at Goodwood just 14 days ago is disqualifying form, and he's never raced at Newbury — too many red flags.

TrackLab Insight
One of only two course winners in the field, which matters, but she's a three-year-old filly with just 25% career win rate and double defeats at Ascot in consecutive runs suggest she's struggling at this level. Poor odds (26.0) reflect the gap between her and the serious contenders here.

How do odds work? The first number is what you win, the second is what you bet. So 5/2 means you win £5 for every £2. 4/1 means you win £4 for every £1. The bigger the first number, the less likely bookmakers think the horse will win — but the more you'd win if it does.
