At nine years old, Gweedore is one of the most experienced horses in the field and has won three times at this course — only Bellarchi has a better record here. The concern is that both recent runs have been poor, including a 14th at Newbury last month, and his record on normal ground is zero wins from three races. The course form is real, but he needs to find something he hasn't shown lately.

The best career win rate in the field at nearly 1 in 3, and the best record at seven furlongs of any runner here — five wins from 12 races at this trip. The glaring problem is that she raced just yesterday at Ayr, finishing eighth, which is an extraordinary turnaround and raises serious questions about how fresh she can be. Six straight poor runs and the lowest rating in the field make this very hard to support despite the impressive overall numbers.

Brutally thin on evidence — this horse has only ever raced once, finishing fifth at Newmarket, which tells us very little about what to expect here. It has never raced on normal ground conditions, so this is another unknown to add to the pile. With just one race on the clock and no wins or places to its name, punters are being asked to take a lot on faith.
