TrackLab Insight
Has actually won at Kempton over this exact distance (1m) back in January, making him the only other course-and-distance winner besides Racingbreaks Ryder. But he's had 25 days off and finished 5th at Newcastle last time out, so freshness and current sharpness are questions. A 50% career win rate is impressive, but that's from just 4 races.

TrackLab Insight
This 3-year-old shows real promise on form lines—5 places from 11 races including a nose-second defeat just 54 days ago—but has a critical weakness: zero wins from 3 starts on standard-to-slow ground, which is exactly what today's conditions demand. He'll struggle in the mud despite being experienced at 11 career races.

Top-rated by 3lbs over the selection but with a critical problem: this 4-year-old has never raced on slow ground and has zero wins from just 3 career races. The lightly raced profile means uncertainty, and recent form (7th, 4th, 3rd) shows inconsistency rather than improvement. Dangerous if the ground doesn't bog down, but vulnerable in these conditions.

TrackLab Insight
The standout here: this horse wins on soft ground at a 40% clip (4 from 10), and today's slow surface should suit him perfectly. He's the only course winner in the field who's raced on this ground type, won at Kempton just 7 days ago, and is the most experienced runner by a distance at 36 career races. Back-to-back wins in his last two runs suggest he's in sharp form despite drifting odds-wise.

Trainer Quotes
Apr 2024
"He's in good shape and runs at Newmarket on Tuesday. He did superbly last year when he won his first three, but obviously that meant his mark shot up. He likes to get his toe in and might be at the top of his mark, but he's a year older, so he could easily have improved. 17-04-24"

"This genuine colt has given his owners a lot of fun since rounding off last season with victory in a Brighton novice. That earned him a rating of 79 and he hasn't stopped improving. First time out this year he won at Nottingham by a short head, followed up off a 5lb higher mark at Haydock and then put up his most impressive performance at Ascot over 7f when making it four in a row, this time off 90. He has been a joy to train and his work leading to this week has been as good as ever, so it's all systems go for the Britannia on Thursday, and rain would help him. He has form on fast ground but is such a tough horse that I feel the harder it is for his rivals the more chance he has. His key attribute is how he travels in his races and that will be a major plus for him this week. 21-06-23"

Won at Kempton in December but hasn't struck in 8 months since, though three straight top-3 finishes (11th-3rd-3rd) suggest form is returning. At 3 years old carrying top weight and with a poor record on good ground (0 from 9 starts), he needs the soft surface to play to his strengths, but consistency has been his downfall.

TrackLab Insight
Young 3-year-old who's never raced on slow ground, which is a red flag for a polytrack mile at these conditions. He's won twice including a Class 2 at Chelmsford on the all-weather in November, but his last three runs have all been poor (5th, 8th, 8th), and the jockey-trainer combo has managed zero wins together from 6 races.

Winless from 7 races with only 2 minor placings and no encouraging trajectory—recent form reads 5th, 5th, 6th. Running out of chances at 3 years old in a competitive Class 4 field, he's a horse still hunting for his maiden win and unlikely to find it here.

Best record at the mile distance (2 wins from 7 runs) and that's genuinely interesting, but he hasn't raced in 48 days and his last three runs have been poor (13th, 5th, 9th). He's also the lowest-rated horse in the field bar one, making his win record of 2 from 11 look relatively soft on paper.

TrackLab Insight
Returning from a 314-day absence and rated 14lbs below the field average for good reason: zero wins from 4 career races, with his last race coming in October. At 3 years old with the longest layoff of any runner, this is a severely exposed horse with minimal recent form to work with.

How do odds work? The first number is what you win, the second is what you bet. So 5/2 means you win £5 for every £2. 4/1 means you win £4 for every £1. The bigger the first number, the less likely bookmakers think the horse will win — but the more you'd win if it does.
