TrackLab Insight
The market favourite just broke her maiden at Sandown 22 days ago, giving her genuine momentum into this race. This three-year-old has shown just enough consistency (1 win and 2 places from 7 races) to warrant support, though she's jockey-trainer newcomers and faces more battle-hardened opponents like Raintown.

The market's second choice at 3.8 but carries a glaring red flag: zero wins from six races with only one placed finish to show. A recent third at Newmarket suggests improvement, yet this three-year-old remains a maiden on track and steps into a Class 5 race where the experienced runners have far more proven ability.

TrackLab Insight
The only winner at this distance in the field, Raintown comes fresh off a victory here 22 days ago and has the best record on dry ground (2 from 8). At 50 races deep, he's far more experienced than his rivals, though his form shows he thrives at Lingfield Park rather than Newbury — a potential red flag despite the recent win.

Trainer Quotes
Jul 2024
"He won by five lengths at Lingfield and went up to a mark of 75. He still ran a nice enough race at Newbury but would probably need to be a bit lower-rated on the grass. He'll win plenty more but he seems to be more of an all-weather horse. He doesn't seem to transfer his all-weather form to grass. He'll be one to follow any time he's on the all-weather. He would still be ahead of the handicapper on that and there'd be a couple of very nice races for him on the all-weather. He's a very big horse and is getting stronger; he'll be a better type of horse with another six months on him. He's one of those late-maturing horses but he's won five races for us, which tells you the ability he's got. 04-07-24"

One of only two course winners in the field, Grey Fox has a Newbury victory to his name and won't be troubled by the dry ground. However, he's in poor form (no wins in six races) and at 9 years old is aging in a competitive race; his recent second at Windsor suggests he's capable but struggling to find the winner's circle consistently.

TrackLab Insight
At 19.0 odds, this three-year-old is a long shot stepping up two classes after a 70-day absence — and crucially, she's never raced on dry ground before. With zero wins from three career races and a devastating 13th-place finish last time, she carries the lowest weight but looks outclassed by a field led by proven winners.

How do odds work? The first number is what you win, the second is what you bet. So 5/2 means you win £5 for every £2. 4/1 means you win £4 for every £1. The bigger the first number, the less likely bookmakers think the horse will win — but the more you'd win if it does.
