The market is backing him hard and for good reason — he's won twice at Ayr in the last two weeks and is clearly thriving on this track right now. The danger is he's racing again after just 7 days and his overall record (3 wins from 24 races) suggests this purple patch could be temporary.

This 3-year-old has never won in four races and is stepping up in class here, which is a tough ask given her form reads 8-4-5-4 — all beaten efforts. She's also been away for 93 days, the longest break of any runner, which raises questions about ring-rustiness on her return.

This is the most dangerous runner on sheer Ayr figures: 3 wins from just 4 races here, including a victory at this track and distance 21 days ago. He's the only horse in the field with recent winning form and genuinely belongs at this track, making him a serious threat to the favourite.

"We're still learning about him. He's quite big and probably didn't handle Musselburgh that well and was a little bit unlucky as he got a bump at the wrong time. He got closer at Doncaster when second on Saturday when he ducked right when challenging. Hopefully he'll be a player in a similar race soon. 07-05-25"

The editorial pick has won here over this exact distance and has finished in the places in his last three runs — he grinds out results week after week (10 wins from 71 races). At 8 years old, he's by far the most experienced horse in the field, though he's not in the best form and has to prove he can get back to winning ways.

"He joined us earlier this month from Charlie Wallis and his first run at Musselburgh was very encouraging when third of 11 over 7f. He ran even better than that last week at Doncaster when beaten only one and a half lengths. For a horse who needs the race to be run at an end-to-end gallop he did not enjoy proceedings on Town Moor as they crawled most of the way before it developed into a sprint, so all things considered it was a fine effort. Both of his runs for me have been over 7f but I am trying him over a mile at Carlisle on Wednesday. His current mark of 73 is very fair and I would be very hopeful of him winning before long. 22-06-22"
The lowest-rated horse in the field by a margin (7lbs below the average), she's never even raced on dry ground like this and has produced just one placed finish from five starts. Last time out she finished second at Ayr by a whisker, but that remains her only sign of competitiveness across her career.

This horse owns Ayr — he's won 2 of his 4 races here and loves the dry ground we've got today (3 wins from 7 on fast turf). The worry is he was tailed off at York just 3 days ago, so running back so quickly after that 17th-place finish is a big ask, even for a proven course specialist.

How do odds work? The first number is what you win, the second is what you bet. So 5/2 means you win £5 for every £2. 4/1 means you win £4 for every £1. The bigger the first number, the less likely bookmakers think the horse will win — but the more you'd win if it does.
