That is a horse that knows exactly what it wants: a specific venue, a specific trip. Get both right and it becomes a serious contender. Normal ground suits it too, with all five wins coming on standard conditions, at a rate of 17% — again, meaningfully better than its overall average.

Trainer Phil McEntee operates out of Newmarket, one of the most competitive training centres in the country, and his yard has sent out 16 winners already this season — a productive run that suggests things are ticking along nicely. Harry Burns is the regular pilot, though their combined record of 1 win from 7 races together (14%) slightly trails what the horse has managed with other riders, which is worth noting.

Most of Court of Session's racing has come at Class 6, the entry level of British racing, and it has won just 1 from 15 at that grade — a surprisingly low 7%, given that this is supposedly its comfort zone. It actually seems to perform better when there is a little more expected of it. Its most recent win came at Wolverhampton in January 2026, and with a race just yesterday, it is very much in the middle of an active campaign. The recent form — a win, then a sixth, third, tenth, twelfth and seventh working backwards — suggests it has come back to something like its best, which will be encouraging for the team around it.
