Her recent form tells an interesting story. In her last six races, she's finished 4th, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and then 14th — and that last result is the one that matters most right now. That flat run came at Wincanton in November, where De Bromhead noted she got outpaced and simply didn't fire on the day. His response was straightforward: give her a proper break and bring her back in the spring. That's exactly what's happened, and after roughly five months off, she's now returning to the track. A bad run followed by an honest reset is often the most sensible thing a trainer can do, and it's worth knowing the 14th was the anomaly, not the pattern.

The partnership with Rachael Blackmore is worth noting. Blackmore has ridden her in 8 of her 15 races and won twice — that's a 25% win rate together, which is a genuinely healthy return. After Cobra Queen's first career win at Cork in July 2024, Blackmore pointed to her jumping and how well she travelled through the race, adding that she'd been a little unlucky before that. The picture that emerges is of a horse who, when things fall right and she's happy in herself, can absolutely get the job done.

The most recent win came at Roscommon in late September 2025 — around seven months ago now. Whether the break has freshened her up or whether she'll need a race to find her best again is the real question on her return. But a horse with this level of consistency, a top jockey who knows her well, and a yard firing at this rate is always worth a second look.
