Clody Diamond

Trained by Paul Nolan at Enniscorthy in County Wexford, Clody Diamond runs for a yard that has been performing solidly this season with 25 winners sent out. The recent form tells the story of a horse treading water: a seventh place, then a second, a fifth, a fourth, a second again, and most recently another seventh. Those two second-place finishes suggest the horse has the ability to get close to the front, but something is preventing the final push to the line. The fact that it has not won any of its last six races, and indeed has never won at all, points to a horse that may be running at a level just beyond its capability, or one that still needs to find the right race and conditions to break through.
