Patrick Street won at Ayr just three days ago but is running again almost immediately on ground he's never encountered (slightly soft is new territory). He has a solid record over 1m3f–1m4f distances (18% win rate) and showed he can handle this trip, but he's won only 3 times from 47 races and has no record on anything softer than yielding ground.

The standout danger here is Ebony Maw's extraordinary record at Ayr—4 wins from 14 visits, better than 1 in 4—but that's a problem: he's never won at Hamilton in 13 attempts and has a glaring vulnerability on soft ground (0 wins from 12 starts). He won just this week at Ayr and comes here on peak form, but the conditions and course are exactly where he struggles most.
Satyress is the market favourite and carries the best win rate in the field (1 in 8 races), with her first career victory coming just days ago at Beverley on 23 June. However, she's unproven on slightly soft ground and has a concerning record on galloping-style tracks (0 from 5)—Hamilton may not suit her running style.

"Her owners aren't bothered about the all-weather and nor am I now. She was seventh at Newcastle at the end of August. I was looking forward to a more positive run, but because they never go any gallop at Newcastle, it didn't show her in the best light and it wasn't her true running. She's much better than that. I have to say I threw her in at the deep end a little bit at Carlisle last week, when she was sixth in quite a hot maiden, but her owners wanted her to run there and I do seem to be very good at training winners at Carlisle. We'll take it day by day now and see how she is. She'll be better again next year. 17-09-25"

Falaise Blanc is the lowest-rated horse in the field and winless for 11 months (1 win from 25 races). He's run three days ago and has never won at Musselburgh or on any right-handed sharp track—he looks out of his depth in this contest.

"We've had him for a year. He's shown bits of promise here and there and his last run was quite good when third behind our own Straya. I don't think he's any kind of worldbeater but he might go up in trip and improve for that. He ran well over 1m2f at Ayr last week, and I think I'd like to step him up to 1m4f, but he's only three and so there's not a lot of opportunities to do that at the moment. We'll just to have to sit tight and wait, especially if we don't want to be travelling hours and hours down the road. He'll probably be out again when we get a bit of rain. 17-07-25"
Fairydale carries the lowest weight and shows genuine progressive form: a nose second 20 days ago at Catterick, now stepping up to 1m4f where she's untested after 10 career races. She's winless but has been placed twice, and the steady improvement in her last three runs—8th, 4th, 2nd—suggests she could be peaking here; she's the only runner with true upward trajectory.
Mr Withington is the top-rated on paper but carries a brutal reality: 0 wins from 11 career races and now 6 consecutive runs without finishing in the money. He's been competing almost exclusively in Class 5, the lowest professional level, and the drift in his odds from 1.1 to 12.0 signals the market has lost faith—rightly so.
Spirit Of Nature is winless from just 5 career races and ran yesterday at Ayr, finishing 10th and beaten nearly 19 lengths. He's being wheeled out again after one day in the worst possible form, and his record shows no wins or consistency to justify support.
Game Management ran just yesterday at Ayr (finishing 4th) and is being asked to run again after just one day—an extreme ask for any horse. He won roughly 1 in 10 races but hasn't won since November 2024, and soft ground isn't in his profile (0 wins from 3 starts on that surface).
Storm On Jura has 0 wins from 10 races and recently finished 11th at Ayr just three days ago. She's never placed higher than 4th and carries an unfavourable weight, making her a clear outsider despite the trainer's strong overall record.
How do odds work? The first number is what you win, the second is what you bet. So 5/2 means you win £5 for every £2. 4/1 means you win £4 for every £1. The bigger the first number, the less likely bookmakers think the horse will win — but the more you'd win if it does.
