Charlie Bell

Having taken up race riding in August 2024, Bell is barely twelve months into life as a jockey. The fact that he has had seven rides in that time tells its own story — opportunities are hard to come by at this stage, and each one matters. His most regular association has been with Farasi Lane, a partnership they have now taken into four races together without a win to show for it. Whether that changes any time soon may depend as much on the horse finding its form as on anything Bell does in the saddle.

There is not much more to read into the numbers at this point, and that is fine. For a jockey in their first year, simply getting rides, building race experience, and learning how to handle different horses on different days is the whole job. The winners will be what people remember eventually — but right now, Bell is putting in the groundwork that every successful jockey has had to do before them.
