Zoulu Warrior

The real strength lies in Class 6 racing, where Zoulu Warrior is genuinely dangerous. At that level, the horse has won three of six races, a 50 percent win rate that puts it firmly among the better performers Heather Main's Kingston Lisle yard sends out each season. That's the sweet spot: move up slightly in class or down in quality, and the picture changes entirely. Zoulu Warrior also thrives on normal ground, winning two of eight races on standard conditions—double its overall win rate—which suggests the horse performs best when the track is neither sticky nor rock-hard.

The recent form paints a mixed picture. After winning at Wolverhampton on 27 December last year, Zoulu Warrior went eight months without another victory, though it picked up places regularly enough to suggest it was competitive. The last six races show a horse still trying to hit the target: fourth place most recently, then a seventh, a fourteenth (a rare blank), more sevenths and a fifth. That's the frustration of Zoulu Warrior's profile—able to run respectably in most races but incapable of stringing together wins at a higher class level.

With Heather Main's yard in good form this season and Zoulu Warrior still actively racing, the horse remains a genuine threat when it gets back to Class 6 on normal ground. Those are the conditions where it stops being a horse with a modest record and becomes something closer to a contender.
