The message is clear: this is a horse built for speed over a short distance, and trainers who pitch it over longer trips are probably not playing to its strengths.

The class level matters too. Ziggy's Condor has found its level in Class 4 races — solid, competitive events that sit in the middle of the British racing pyramid. At that level, the horse has won 3 of 17 races, nearly 1 in every 6. That is a meaningful hit rate, and it suggests this horse is genuinely competitive when placed correctly, rather than just making up the numbers.

What is slightly puzzling is the partnership with jockey Oisin Orr. The pair have raced together eight times without a win between them — 0 from 8 is a run that would test anyone's patience. Whether that is coincidence, bad luck, or a mismatch worth reconsidering is a question for trainer Adam Kirby, whose yard in Kirtling, Newmarket has sent out six winners this season. The last win, at Newcastle in January 2026, came four months ago and was the most recent of three career victories stretching back to that first success at Pontefract in July 2023.

That is the shape of a horse coming back into form rather than fading out of it, and given how recently it raced — just one day ago — Ziggy's Condor is very much a live, active competitor with more chapters still to write.
