The recent form makes for tough reading. Over the last six races, Yurinov's best efforts have been a pair of fourth-place finishes, sandwiched around results of sixth, fifth, seventh, and sixth. That's consistently mid-pack at best, and the seventh-place finish in there suggests the horse has had days where it's barely been a factor at all. Jockey Cam Hardie has partnered Yurinov five times without a win between them, which at least offers some consistency — though not the kind any yard is looking for.
What makes this picture particularly stark is where these races have been happening. Yurinov competes almost exclusively at Class 6, the entry level of British racing — the races where horses go when they need to find the easiest possible opportunity for a win. Eleven of those 19 races have come at that level, and the record there reads zero wins from eleven. When a horse can't win at the bottom rung, it raises honest questions about whether a winning day is coming at all. That said, Kirby's yard has sent out 31 winners this season, so the training operation clearly knows how to get horses into the winner's enclosure — Yurinov just hasn't been one of them yet.
Raced as recently as 15 days ago, Yurinov is still active and still being aimed at opportunities. Whether one eventually arrives is the open question.
