Ya Karim

The sole victory came at Great Yarmouth back in October 2025, and what's notable is that Ya Karim had already shown promise before that, finishing third on debut before a fourth and then the win. Since then, another third place suggests the horse is still competing well — never disgracing itself, always in the conversation at the finish. A 25% win rate from four races — one win in every four attempts — is a solid return at this early stage of a career, particularly for a horse still learning the game.

Ya Karim is trained by Harry Charlton at the Beckhampton yard in Wiltshire, one of English racing's most historic training bases, set on the Marlborough Downs. Charlton has been in strong form this season with 38 winners already on the board, so this is a horse in confident, well-resourced hands. The fact that Ya Karim has raced as recently as yesterday suggests the team see plenty of racing still to come this season, and with a young horse that has shown this much early promise, that's a very encouraging sign.
