Willowinghurn

The horse's two victories tell the real story. Both came in lower-grade races—it has won two of seven outings at Class 5 level, a win rate of 29 percent, which suggests this is where it runs competitively. Away from that comfort zone, winning becomes much rarer. Its last success came at Musselburgh in early October 2025, nearly eleven months ago, and since then it has failed to win in its last six races. Recent form has been patchy: a third-place finish, then an eighth, a sixth, a fifth, twelfth, and another fifth. The consistency is there in places—three fifth-place finishes in that sequence show it is capable of respectable efforts—but nothing has converted to victory.

The partnership with Mark Winn, its most frequent jockey, has not yielded a win from six races together, though that is a small sample. Willowinghurn races for trainer David O'Meara's yard at Upper Helmsley in North Yorkshire, a stable that has been prolific this season with 101 winners. The yard clearly knows how to find winners, but this particular horse has been a slow burner. Now racing active again after just yesterday, Willowinghurn faces the familiar challenge of rediscovering form at the level where it has actually won races.
