The highlight of his career came at Ascot in September 2022, when he won a Class 2 race — one of the top races in Britain — on only his first visit to the track. That is a result that sticks out like a beacon in his record. It suggests that at his very best, on the right day, this horse can mix it with genuinely good company. The problem is that finding that right day has become harder as he has got older. He has not won in his last six races, and his record at the level he now mostly competes at — Class 4 — makes for uncomfortable reading: zero wins from 11 races at that grade. For a horse that has beaten better, that is a frustrating pattern.

His trainer Roger Teal, who has sent out 22 winners from his Lambourn yard this season, knows this horse inside out and is clear-eyed about what he needs. He wants pace in the race around him, and crucially he cannot be sent to the front too early — he needs something to chase and a target to aim at late on. When those conditions materialise, Teal believes there are more wins to come. The evidence from Wolverhampton backs that up: two wins from just three visits there makes it comfortably his favourite track, and his most recent victory came at Wolverhampton as recently as March 2025, just 14 months ago.

His best performances tend to come on normal ground — he has won 3 of his 12 races in those conditions, which is a genuinely solid 1-in-4 record. His regular jockey Kieran Shoemark has yet to find the winning formula together, with no wins from five rides, but Teal's confidence in the horse's ability to produce on the right occasion feels earned. This is not a horse in decline so much as one waiting patiently for the cards to fall his way again.
