The key to getting the best from Tazaman is understanding exactly what it likes. On fast, dry ground, the horse transforms: 2 wins from just 5 races at 40%, or winning 2 in every 5, is a seriously impressive conversion rate. Add in the distance factor — 2 wins from only 3 races at a mile and three to a mile and four furlongs, which works out at winning 2 in every 3 — and you have a horse with a very specific sweet spot. Find those conditions, find that trip, and Tazaman becomes genuinely hard to beat.

Most of its career has been spent at Class 6, the grassroots level of British racing, and it has thrived there: 4 wins from 11 races at that level, meaning it wins more than 1 in every 3. That is a strong record. Kempton Park was the scene of its first career win back in October 2021, and it added another at Bath in June 2025 — so this is a horse that has been delivering results for the best part of four years. The recent form figures of two wins in the last six races suggest Tazaman is in as good a shape as it has been for a while.

Trainer Kevin Frost, based at Averham Park in Nottinghamshire, has sent out 25 winners this season, which is a yard in solid form. When a trainer is hitting that kind of number, horses in their care tend to be fit and well-managed — and Tazaman's continued presence in the yard at nine years old, still racing and still winning, suggests it is being handled with care. If the sun comes out and the ground dries up, keep an eye on this one.
