The clearest picture of what Stressfree can do came at Haydock Park on 31 May 2025, when he won a Class 2 race under jockey Danny Tudhope—one of only four victories in his career, and his sole win in fifteen attempts at that level. Trainer David O'Meara has been candid about the horse's nature. Stressfree has "a lot of ability" but can be "a bit soft," which is why O'Meara sent him hurdling over the winter to toughen him mentally. The plan worked that day at Haydock, and O'Meara noted it was an "excellent ride" from Tudhope, though he admitted he's never fully confident with this horse because "he has come out on the wrong end of a battle before." That vulnerability—the sense that Stressfree will try hard but might not fight back when pressed—haunts his entire record.

Since that Haydock win 15 months ago, the horse has not found the winner's circle again. His last six races tell the story: three finishes outside the places, two second-place efforts, and one sixth. He remains active—he raced just yesterday—but the form has dried up. With Tudhope, his most frequent partner, Stressfree has managed just 1 win from 13 races together, a figure that suggests the partnership, despite its Haydock success, has not clicked consistently. O'Meara still sees bigger opportunities ahead, mentioning targets like the Ebor at York, but for now Stressfree is a horse with obvious quality operating on the margins of winning form, a shade too delicate for his own good.
