The recent run of form makes for difficult reading. Looking at the last six races, the best effort was a fourth-place finish, sandwiched between a string of seventh, eleventh, sixth, eleventh, and ninth-place results. That fourth is the closest Siviez has come to threatening the front end lately, and even that feels like a distant memory. At Class 5 level — the entry-level tier of British racing — Siviez has gone four races without troubling the scorer, which raises genuine questions about where a win might come from.
What keeps things interesting is the yard behind the horse. Grant Tuer, based in Birkby, North Yorkshire, has sent out 26 winners already this season, which shows there is plenty of know-how in that operation. Tuer clearly knows how to get horses to win races, which at least suggests Siviez is in capable hands while the yard figure out the right opportunity. The horse raced just one day ago, so it is very much an active project rather than a forgotten one — someone clearly believes the breakthrough is still coming.
Whether that belief is rewarded remains to be seen. Siviez needs to find something significant to go from also-ran to winner, and the clock is ticking on its chance to prove it belongs even at the lower end of the sport's ladder.
