The record speaks for itself: 9 wins and 17 places from 32 races, a win rate of 28%, which means he wins roughly 1 in every 3.5 races he enters. That is exceptional for a horse competing at this level. Five of those wins have come in Class 3 races — two steps below the very top tier in Britain — and he has won 5 of the 12 he has contested at that level. Winning 42% of your races in a particular class is not just good form, it is dominance. He also has a course record at Warwick, where he has won 2 of 3 races, and he claimed a Class 2 win at Stratford-on-Avon in July 2023, one of the better races in the British calendar.

What keeps Sir Tivo winning at 12 is attitude. His jockey Sean Bowen, who has ridden him in 15 races and won 8 of them — that is more than half — says he simply loves what he does. Hanmer has spoken openly about waiting for the right conditions before running him: Sir Tivo thrives on fast, dry ground around sharp, tight tracks. Stratford suits him perfectly. When the ground comes up right, he goes there. That kind of patient, targeted approach from the yard in Tattenhall, Cheshire — which has sent out 19 winners this season — is exactly why this horse is still competitive deep into his career.

His most recent win came at Wetherby in October 2025, in course record time. He raced just one day ago, and his last six runs read 4-1-2-3-1, showing a horse that is placing or winning almost every time out. Most horses this age are winding down. Sir Tivo appears to be doing the opposite.
