Serenity Dream

The horse is a genuine specialist on fast, dry ground, winning half of its races (2 from 4) when conditions are firm underfoot. On slower, muddy terrain the record isn't quite as sharp — 2 wins from 7 — but still respectable at nearly 1 in 3. Over shorter distances between 5 furlongs and 6½ furlongs, Serenity Dream looks most at home, with 3 wins from 10 races at that range, roughly 30 percent. Kempton Park is clearly a happy hunting ground: the horse has won twice from six visits, and it was at Kempton where Serenity Dream notched the first career win back in July 2023. Most recently, the horse picked up a victory at Brighton on 6 August this year — four weeks ago — which suggests there's still some fire left.

Recent form has been mixed. Over the last six races, Serenity Dream has managed 2 wins and 3 places but also a couple of well-beaten efforts. Jockey Jack Doughty, who has ridden the horse eleven times, has steered it to victory twice — an 18 percent win rate together that's slightly better than the overall record. Trainer Tony Carroll, based at Cropthorne in Worcestershire, runs a prolific yard that has sent out 136 winners this season alone, so the infrastructure to support the horse is solid. The main limitation is that at Class 4 level — the bread-and-butter races where Serenity Dream typically competes — the horse has only 1 win from 11 attempts, which tells you the competition is stiff at that grade. Still, a horse that knows how to win and can exploit fast ground and shorter distances remains useful in any small racing operation.
