Secret Guest

Smart's yard at Sutton Bank in North Yorkshire has had a productive season, sending out 18 winners already. Secret Guest is one of his steadier campaigners rather than a headline act. The horse has been ridden most often by Paul Mulrennan, though they have only managed one win together from 12 races. Last won at Thirsk on 3 May 2025, Secret Guest has now gone 16 months without a victory and hasn't crossed the line first in his last six races, finishing as high as fourth but more often towards the back of the field. He raced just one day ago and remains active, so the yard is clearly still looking for another winning opportunity. He is not a Class 1 or 2 performer — he competes mainly at Class 3 level without a win in 15 attempts at that grade — but on the right day, on normal ground, with a bit of luck, he can still find his way into the frame and earn his keep.
