That is the form of a horse hitting a purple patch. He had been in and around the prizes without quite getting there, and then he delivered when it mattered.

That is meaningfully better than his overall record and suggests he is a horse who wants enough time to warm into a race but not so long that the stamina question becomes uncomfortable. Get the conditions right and he is a genuinely competitive animal at his level.

For a Class 6 horse to come out of that environment and be winning races in May 2026 with the form he is currently showing suggests everything is clicking nicely. Sceptic may not be a horse that wins major prizes, but he is in form, he is fit, and he clearly has not read the script about knowing when to slow down.
