The last six runs read 11-2-1-2-2-1, which tells a compelling story. Two wins, three runner-up finishes, and only one below-par effort — this is a horse that keeps showing up. More importantly, the most recent of those wins came at Newcastle on 28 June 2025 in a Class 2 race, which is one of the better races you will find outside the very top tier. For a horse that typically competes in Class 4 company — where it has won just 1 from 12 races, or about 1 in every 12 — winning a Class 2 is a genuine step up in class, and it delivered. That is the kind of performance that makes people sit up and pay attention.

Savrola clearly has preferences, and when they are met, the results follow. On normal ground it has won 2 of its 5 races — 40% — which is a remarkable ratio. At longer distances, between a mile and six furlongs and two miles, it again wins 2 from 5, or 40%. These are not coincidences. When the conditions suit, this horse performs at a completely different level to its everyday Class 4 appearances.

Dianne Sayer trains out of Hackthorpe in Cumbria, a small yard that has sent out 15 winners already this season — a productive campaign by any measure. The most frequent jockey partner has been Daniel Muscutt, though that combination has not yet clicked, with 0 wins from 5 rides together. Given the horse's current form, that might be a partnership worth revisiting with fresh eyes.

Savrola first won at Haydock Park back in July 2022 and has taken time to develop into the horse it now appears to be. With a race just yesterday and the form figures pointing upward, this is one to watch whenever the trip is right and the ground rides normally.
