Paul Nolan's Enniscorthy yard is in fine form this season with 25 winners to its name, and Sageborough fits the profile of a horse the trainer genuinely rates. Nolan was visibly pleased after the colt's debut victory at Wexford in October 2025, impressed not just by the win itself but by the quality of the performance—a professional effort over two miles from a horse with real jumping ability despite having no point-to-point schooling behind him. That win opened a door that might otherwise have remained closed. His most recent success came at the same track in May 2026, suggesting Wexford suits him. Since then, however, he has managed only one place finish from his last five races, a dip in form that leaves questions hanging.

The curious thing about Sageborough is that he seems capable of reaching for something better—Nolan has already indicated a willingness to step him up in class toward graded company—yet his recent record does not quite build the case. He remains a work in progress, a horse with genuine ability but not yet the reliability of form that turns promise into a genuine prospect. Still active and racing just a day ago, he remains a horse worth watching, particularly when Sean O'Keeffe partners him and when he returns to Wexford.
