Every win Rhoscolyn has ever recorded has come either at Goodwood or, in one case, at Epsom — two of the most distinctive, undulating tracks in the country, with sharp turns and a premium on horses that can handle unusual terrain. He first won at Goodwood in August 2023 and then went on a remarkable run, winning four more times at the same track across the following two years. His trainer, David O'Meara, has openly flagged him as a Goodwood horse, and the part-owner has noted he lost his way for a spell before finding his spark again on ground he loves. That ground matters enormously: on wet or soft ground, Rhoscolyn wins roughly 1 in every 4 races (3 from 13), and on genuinely muddy, heavy ground the record becomes startling — 2 wins from just 4 attempts, which is 50%.

All five of those Goodwood wins have come in top-tier races — one of the best categories in British racing — making him something more than a horse that collects easy prizes on home turf. O'Meara has mentioned a £100,000 race back at Goodwood over his preferred distance as a likely next target, which tells you the yard still believes there is a big day left in him.
