Both wins came in a tight window in the summer of 2024 — first at Thirsk in late June, then at Galway in late July. That second win, at Galway, is now 22 months in the past, and in the six races since, Reidh hasn't come close to repeating it. The recent form figures of 9-12-11-11-11-4 tell you most of what you need to know: finishing positions well into double figures, with only a fourth place offering anything to encourage the team. This is a horse going through a difficult stretch.

What makes that stretch more puzzling is the class level. Reidh typically competes at Class 5, which is toward the lower end of the racing ladder — these aren't glamorous contests, they're bread-and-butter races where everyone is looking for a win they can build on. And yet at that level, across nine races, Reidh has a record of zero wins from nine. That's not just a dry spell — it means the horse has yet to win at the level where it races most often, which raises a genuine question about where, if anywhere, a third win might come from.

The regular partnership with jockey Oisin Orr is one of the more encouraging facts on file. Together they've won 2 of 14 races — roughly 1 in every 7 — which is meaningfully better than the overall career average and suggests the combination works better than most. Trainer Adam Kirby, based at Kirtling on the outskirts of Newmarket, has sent out six winners this season, so the yard is ticking over. The yard clearly knows what it's doing — the question is whether Reidh can find a race that suits.

Reidh raced just yesterday, so this is a horse very much in active training. Whatever comes next, it's a horse that keeps turning up — and in racing, that persistence occasionally gets rewarded.
