On normal conditions, he's even better — winning roughly one in every three. This is the kind of horse that punters learn to follow on firm going or when the track is running true. The recent form is intriguing. After a quiet spell, Oviedo returned to the winner's enclosure just this week at Ffos Las on August 21st, then raced again only a day later. His last six outings read 1-1-9-9-10-10 — two wins sandwiched between placings and out-of-the-frame efforts. This is a horse finding form again. He is trained by Alexandra Dunn at West Buckland in Somerset, a yard that has been active this season, and his regular jockey is Callum Rodriguez, though their partnership has yielded just one winner from nine races together. For Oviedo, consistency seems to come not from a particular rider or a particular course, but from waiting for the ground and distance to align with his strengths.
