Nakaaha

Distance is everything with this horse. When racing between a mile and one furlong and a mile and two furlongs, Nakaaha has won 2 of her 7 races — that is 29%, or nearly 1 in 3, which is a meaningfully better record than her overall figures suggest. It tells you she has a sweet spot, and when she lands in it, she delivers. Both of her wins have also come at Class 5 level, where she has converted 2 from 6 attempts — again, 1 in 3. At that level, on that trip, she is a horse to watch.

Her first win came at Newbury in July 2025, followed by a second at Ffos Las in August — two different tracks, which suggests she is not simply a horse who suits one particular course. The more recent form has been patchy, with finishes of 12th, 8th, and 10th in subsequent races, but she bounced back to second place in her most recent completed run, which is encouraging. She raced just yesterday, so she is clearly being kept busy by trainer Grace Harris.

Harris, based in Shirenewton in Gwent, has had a productive season — 27 winners from her yard is a solid total and reflects a team in good form. That context matters. A yard firing on all cylinders tends to know exactly when a horse is ready to run well, and the fact that Nakaaha is being kept active suggests Harris sees more to come. If she lines up again at a mile and a bit in a Class 5 race on normal or fast ground, the form book says she is well worth a second look.
