My Boy Harry

He is trained by Jim & Suzi Best at their yard in Lewes, East Sussex, a team that has sent out 13 winners already this season and clearly knows how to keep a horse ticking over. My Boy Harry's regular partner in the saddle is Luke Morris, who has ridden him in 6 races and won once together — not a dominant partnership on paper, but Morris clearly knows the horse well enough to keep getting the call.

Where this horse really comes alive is at distances between seven furlongs and a mile. Over that range, he has won 4 of his 16 races — a win rate of 25%, or 1 in every 4 attempts. That is a meaningful jump from his overall record and tells you something important: he wants enough distance to get into a rhythm, but not so far that it stretches him. Get the trip right, and he is a different proposition.

His current form is worth noting too. That sequence of results reads: a blank, then fifth, twelfth, sixth, fourth, and most recently a win. That win came at Lingfield Park this week, on 19 May 2026 — the most recent race on his record — which means he arrives at whatever comes next off the back of a victory, a position any trainer would want their horse in. His first career win had come at Brighton back in June 2025, so he has been around the block and knows how to get his head in front.

Most of his races have come at Class 6 level — the entry-level tier of British racing — where he has won 4 of 26, again at that 15% clip. He is not a horse destined for the big occasions, but at his level, on the right trip, on a good day, he is exactly the kind of horse that makes racing interesting: honest, consistent, and very much in form right now.
