Mokata

Trained by Adam Kirby at his yard in Kirtling, on the outskirts of Newmarket, Mokata is part of a set-up that has sent out six winners this season, so the operation clearly knows how to get a horse to the line first. Mokata, though, hasn't yet found a way to follow their lead. Having raced just yesterday, it's a horse in active work and presumably being pointed at a target that suits it better — at three years old, there's time on its side, and plenty of horses take a few outings to find their feet.

Whether that improvement comes is the question. Right now, the record is what it is: no wins and no places from three attempts, which means it has yet to earn a penny in prize money. Ones to keep an eye on rather than rush to back.
