That one win came at Galway in September 2024, and it remains the defining moment of his career so far. Galway is a tricky, undulating track that can catch horses out, so getting it right there is no small thing — but it was also, as it turned out, his only visit to the winner's enclosure. Twenty months have passed since then, and the six races since haven't brought him back to that level, with finishes of ninth, ninth again, and sixth among his recent results.
His most regular jockey has been Daniel King, who has partnered him five times without a win between them. That's not a criticism of either — some combinations just haven't clicked yet, and five races is still a relatively small sample. Max Time raced just yesterday, so whatever comes next is already close. Whether Galway 2024 turns out to be a one-off high point or the start of a late-career revival remains to be seen.
