Her first win came at Navan in November 2023, and De Bromhead remembered afterwards that she had arrived well recommended and simply delivered on the promise — galloping and jumping, as he put it, which in racing shorthand means she did the two things that matter most cleanly and without fuss. That Navan win came over hurdles, but it's what happened next that has people genuinely interested. When she stepped up to racing over fences at Kilbeggan in April 2025, she took to it immediately, winning with jumping that Rachael Blackmore — one of the most decorated riders in the sport — called very good. Blackmore also noted she's straightforward and loves her jumping, which sounds simple but is actually high praise. Horses that enjoy what they do tend to keep improving.
Look To The West has had a short break of around 48 days since that Kilbeggan win, and De Bromhead has described her as back working and jumping fences well. Her recent form — a win, a third, a fifth, and another third in her last four races — tells the story of a horse who is competitive without yet having had everything go her way. The question now is whether she can build on that fences debut win and string a sequence together. The ingredients — a good yard in form, a jockey who clearly likes her, and a horse that apparently loves the jumping game — are all there.
