Lazzar

Two wins in those six runs, and a place in a third, suggests a horse that has genuinely clicked into gear. It raced just yesterday, which means this is a horse in the middle of its season, being kept busy, and answering the calls being made of it.

Richard Hughes is a trainer worth knowing about. His yard has sent out 60 winners this season alone, which is a serious operation by any measure. That kind of continuity matters — a jockey who knows a horse's quirks is an advantage, not an afterthought. At four years old, with form improving and the right tracks to target, Lazzar looks like a horse still finding its ceiling.
