Kwidsin has spent most of its time in Class 5 races, which sit towards the lower end of the British racing ladder — essentially the entry-level tier where horses are finding their feet. From three races at that level, it has not managed a win, and given it has not placed in any of its five outings, it has yet to show the form that would justify stepping up in class. Racing just yesterday, the horse is clearly still being kept busy, which suggests the team around it has not given up on finding the right opportunity.
That team is trained by Grant Tuer, operating out of Birkby in North Yorkshire. Tuer's yard has sent out 26 winners this season, which is a solid body of work and suggests a stable that knows how to place its horses to give them a chance. The fact that Kwidsin has not yet troubled the judge is unlikely to be for lack of effort on the trainer's part — sometimes younger horses simply take time to put it all together. At three years old, Kwidsin is still at the stage where improvement is genuinely possible, and a horse that finishes fifth one day can find a different gear the next. Whether that day comes soon is the question.
