The trainer calls him an improving, athletic horse who is hard to catch when conditions suit, but vulnerable on fast ground. He likes some cut — wet or softer going — and when that arrives, Goldie reckons he will be "tasty." For a horse who has been off the winning mark for over two years, those are bold words. But with the right ground underfoot and Musselburgh on the horizon, the conditions for a return to form are not as far away as the calendar might suggest.
