Jetara has a clear preference for the conditions underfoot. On very wet, heavy ground, the record is remarkable: 2 wins from just 3 races, a 67% win rate. That is a horse that comes alive in the mud when others are miserable. The trainer, Mrs John Harrington, based at Moone in County Kildare, will know to watch the weather forecast closely. Her yard has been in outstanding form this season, sending out 49 winners, and she clearly knows how to place a horse to its strengths.

There is also a soft spot for Fairyhouse, where Jetara first won back in April 2022 and has since gone on to record 2 wins from 5 visits. That kind of affinity for a particular track is real — some horses simply take to a course, whether it is the shape of the bends, the camber of the ground, or something else entirely.

The honest part of the picture is that Jetara has not won in six races, with recent finishes reading 10th, 3rd, 7th, 3rd, 5th and 6th. The last win was 15 months ago. But this is a horse that raced just yesterday and is still firmly in training, still competing at the top level. If the rain comes and the ground turns heavy, do not be surprised if Jetara reminds everyone exactly what it is capable of.
