The recent form makes for sobering reading. Looking at the last six races, the best result was a third, bookended by a string of fifth, sixth, seventh, and ninth-place finishes. There is no obvious upward trend to point to, no sense of a horse gradually finding its feet and closing in on a breakthrough. That said, Jet Renegade raced just yesterday, so Kinirons clearly has the horse fit and busy, which at least suggests the team believe there is something worth persisting with.
Kinirons has sent out five winners from his Kildare base this season, so the yard is capable of getting horses to win. The question is whether Jet Renegade can become the sixth. For now, it remains one of those horses that tests a trainer's patience — competitive enough to keep running, but not yet competitive enough to win.
