The form line reads 7-4-2-3-4 going back through the recent past, and that sequence is actually quietly encouraging. Hudson has been placed twice across nine races — not a brilliant return, but the placings have come recently, suggesting the horse may be finding its feet at this level. Racehorses can take time to work things out, and a run of consistent mid-field and placed efforts sometimes precedes a breakthrough. The yard will certainly be hoping so.
That yard is trained by Mickey Bowen, operating out of Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire — not one of the traditional powerhouse training centres, but Bowen has sent out 51 winners already this season, which is a genuinely impressive output for a stable outside the mainstream hubs. That kind of form from a trainer means horses in his care are fit, well-prepared, and running to their potential. If Hudson is going to win a race, being in a yard in this kind of form gives it a real chance.
Hudson raced just one day ago, so this is a horse very much in the thick of its campaign right now. Whether that recent run leads somewhere better next time out is the question worth watching.
