The recent form makes for tough reading. Over the last six races, the best result was a fifth, with a tenth, sixth, eleventh, eighth, and seventh filling out the sequence — a string of mid-pack and rear-end finishes that suggests Hi Hoh Tonto is currently finding it hard to make an impression even at Class 6 level, which is the entry-level tier of British racing. In 14 races at that grade, it has yet to win a single one.
It raced just yesterday, so at least enthusiasm is not the problem. Ross Burdon's yard in Newmarket — one of the great training centres in British racing — has sent out 12 winners this season, which shows the operation knows how to get horses to the track in winning form. Hi Hoh Tonto, for now, remains the exception rather than the rule.
