Both of those wins have come at Class 6 level, which is the everyday end of British racing where most horses spend their working lives. In that company, Havana Club has won 2 from 19 races and placed in eight more, meaning it has finished in the top three in nearly half of its Class 6 outings. That is a horse that competes. It rarely blows up or finishes last; it tends to be there or thereabouts, which is exactly what a trainer wants from a consistent, low-key performer.

Adrian Wintle, who trains at Westbury-on-Severn in Gloucestershire, has had a productive season with 30 winners from the yard. Havana Club's regular partner in the saddle is jockey Finley Marsh, who has ridden the horse in 10 of its 26 races and landed the one win between them — a 1-in-10 record that reflects the horse's general profile: competitive but not a serial winner.

The most recent victory came at Wolverhampton in December 2025, around five months ago. Before that, a win at Bath in May 2025 was the first of the horse's career. Two wins in roughly seven months suggested some momentum was building — but the last six races have produced nothing better than a second place, with a couple of mid-field finishes mixed in. The form has dipped, and Havana Club has not yet found a way back to the winner's enclosure.

Racing just one day ago, the horse remains active and the team at Wintle's yard will know exactly what they need from it. Horses like this rarely make the back pages, but they are the backbone of British racing — honest, durable animals that show up week after week. Whether Havana Club can add a third win to its record is the question worth watching.
