What gives the picture some colour is the trainer. Harry Eustace is based in Newmarket, which is about as central to British racing as it gets — the town is home to two famous racecourses and dozens of top yards, and competition for training talent there is fierce. Eustace has sent out 23 winners already this season, which tells you this is not a small operation making up the numbers. When a yard is firing at that rate, the horses coming out of it tend to be well prepared, and a second place from Greek Street's most recent run — just one day ago — suggests the horse is fit and in the mix.

The honest truth is that two races is not much to go on. Greek Street has placed once and shown enough consistency to suggest the winner's enclosure is a realistic next step, but whether that happens soon depends on finding the right opportunity. With a capable yard behind the horse and youth very much on its side, this is one to watch rather than write off.
