It tells you this is a horse who needs things set up just right: get him on a decent surface at a good distance and he becomes a different animal. His most recent win came at Leopardstown in July 2025, and while that is now ten months ago, the fact he raced just yesterday suggests the yard at Newmarket sees plenty left in him yet.

Rachael Blackmore has ridden him seven times — more than anyone else — and they have won together once (14%), which mirrors his overall record almost exactly. That consistency, even if modest, suggests a horse who performs reliably to his level regardless of who is in the saddle. Matt Crawley's yard has sent out four winners already this season, so the operation is in decent form, and keeping an active 8-year-old in training this late in his career is a statement of intent in itself.

The six-race winless run is worth noting, but it is not a crisis. His recent form — a second, two fourths, and a seventh among those efforts — shows a horse still running his race, still competitive, just not quite getting his nose in front. For a horse who found the winner's enclosure as recently as last summer, the next win feels less like a question of whether and more like a question of when.
