Garden Oasis

The real story of Garden Oasis is specialisation. He is a creature of particular preferences, and when those boxes are ticked, he transforms from a plodder into something more purposeful. Dry ground is his drug — he has won four races from sixteen on fast, firm surfaces, a 25% conversion rate that is nearly double his overall win rate. He came to life at Ripon with his breakthrough success in August 2022, and jockey David Allan, who rides him in three of every four victories, immediately identified what made the difference: a mile on good ground, tactical speed from a handy draw, and the kind of gutsy determination that asks horses to fight when the pace strips away their natural pace. Allan has been his go-to rider for good reason, winning at 24% from 29 rides together — far better than the horse's baseline. Their last success came at Pontefract in August 2025, but that now lies thirteen months in the past, and Garden Oasis has been unable to find the winner's enclosure in his last six attempts. Still, he races on, and he raced just yesterday. For a horse of his age, in a yard with serious ambitions, that alone speaks to something worth backing.
