Fierce Warrior

He runs out of one of British racing's most decorated yards, trained by Nicky Henderson at Upper Lambourn. Henderson's operation has sent out 85 winners already this season, which tells you something about the standard Fierce Warrior is prepared to every morning. His most regular partner in the saddle is Nico de Boinville, and together they've clicked particularly well — winning 2 of their 6 races together, which works out at roughly 1 in every 3 rides. For a horse who typically competes at Class 4 level, that's a solid return.

The highlight of his career so far came at Musselburgh in March 2025, when he won a Class 2 race — one of the better prizes in British racing. That was a significant step up from his usual level, and jockey James Bowen made it look straightforward by keeping him away from the traffic and letting him find his rhythm. "He jumped well today," Bowen said afterwards. "It was a great bit of placing." Henderson had described Fierce Warrior as coming good at the back end of last season, and that Musselburgh win was the proof. It followed a second-place finish at Doncaster, where his last win also came — on 29 November 2025.

The really interesting part is what comes next. Henderson has spoken about how well Fierce Warrior has been schooling, hinting that a move to fences could be on the cards. Horses who switch disciplines don't always take to it immediately, but the signs from the yard have been encouraging. A horse who jumps well and has already shown he can rise to a big occasion when asked is exactly the profile you'd want going into that kind of challenge. He raced just one day ago, so the yard are clearly keeping him busy — and with a career trajectory that has been moving upwards, Fierce Warrior looks like a horse worth following closely over the coming months.
